Website Workshop – More Details

Hey guys – this is an update on the WordPress workshop that I mentioned in an earlier blog post:
So there wasn’t enough interest to merit renting a space and doing a large-group class, but enough interest that I still want to be able to offer this workshop in some fashion.
My main goal is to be able to share this knowledge and skills with all of you, so I’m going to offer a modified workshop that you can schedule on an individual or group basis.
Basically, I’ll still cover everything the workshop would have covered (see below for modified details), but it’ll just be me, at your place, for an intimate & individual session.
For an individual, at your place, for 4 hours, I’m charging $120.
If you want to invite some friends, at your place (a maximum of 4 people total), it’s $180 total. So if there’s 4 of you, that’s only $45 each for a 4 hour workshop! This is good for those of you who were worried about funds.
If you’re still interested, email info@putontheglasses.com to set up a time.

Might You Be Interested in Taking a Class With Us?

We are contemplating the idea of offering a series of classes and want to know if you would be interested in taking a class with us. The first class we would offer is “How to Create a Dynamic Website or Blog with WordPress” and would be great for anyone seeking to build and maintain a website easily, especially writers, artists, creative individuals, or bloggers. We want to offer this class to (1) individuals who like to do things themselves but want to learn the best practices and get things done right, & (2) individuals who want a new website but can’t afford to hire a web design firm to build a custom website so are seeking to try setting up a basic version themselves (FYI: our custom website packages range anywhere from $1500 – $10,000+).

Here are the tentative details for the class:

Revamp of The Eastsider LA

Our newest project is live: The Eastsider LA

Before:

eastsider_old

After:

eastsider_new

The purpose of the redesign was to improve the general organization & architecture, cleaner ad integration, user experience, and general interface design for an overall improved experience for the readers. The redesign was also done on a budget, so we worked with premium theme Sahifa, adapting it for The Eastsider’s unique needs and objectives.

New Website!

You may have already noticed the look for our website. It’s a big change, but we’re super stoked to have utilized the fresh design of Collision’s Mercurial theme in combination with POTG Design’s kickass aesthetic for this new iteration of our website.

We love the single-page functionality, liquid scrolling, and easy-to-use interface, and think you’ll like the changes too. So stay awhile and take a look around!

To refresh your memory, here’s what the previous website looked like:
